One-sixth of the way done. Following this morning's volleyball practice, I am one-sixth of the way done with preseason. Yes, I am counting the days.
One of the first things you will come to know about me is that even though I would love to be a morning person, I am most definitely not one. This works against me big time during volleyball preseason. Our first practice of the day (yes, we have two-a-days..feel bad for me yet?), is at 6:15 in the morning. Being forced to run, dive, and sweat through your shirt before the sun even rises is quite the request. We have the day off, but then are forced to report back at 6:45 for some more conditioning and drills. My days have turned into volleyball, sleeping, and more volleyball.
So yes, I can barley move my arms and legs from the ridiculous weight training we have been doing. Yes, my feet are covered in all kinds of nasty blisters. Yes, I can hardly keep my eyes open while writing this. And yes, I cannot wait to climb in my bed in a few short minutes.
Although this hard work is beyond exhausting, I really like it in a weird way. With the bad, I am able to see the good. I love knowing that my body is being pushed to be better. I love the girls on my team. But I do not love the 5:45 wake ups.
Saturday come quick.
Best wishes,
Grace
