With school starting up, I have been quite busy. However, I did find time to go take some pictures with my lovely friend Kate. Her mom is quite the photographer so it was fun to drive around with her and find different places to shoot. I absolutely love to add photos to my collection. Practice may make perfect, but each photograph is perfect in its on way.
I hope to have a post or two up in a few days about my first days of class.
Best wishes,
Grace

Bubbles
There are not many things that cannot be fixed with a bubble bath. After a grueling practice this morning, I headed right to the tub, pushed play on my calming music playlist, and sunk beneath the bubbles.
Six more days of summer is all I have left. Back to school festivities start this coming Monday so this is it. It is safe to say I am little let down by this summer. Yes, I took some amazing trips and had quite a lot of fun, however I did not really accomplish all I hoped to. I had a long set of goals and things to get done that did not get finished.
With that said, I strongly believe that God has perfect timing. Everything will happen when it is supposed to. This summer may have not been the most productive summer ever, but I did get quite a few things done. I found my passion for blogging, I furthered my photography portfolio, I made some new friends, and I found quite a bit of peace within myself.
"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!" Psalm 27:14
"For there is a time and a way for everything, although man's trouble lies heavy on him." Ecclesiastes 8:6Patience, patience, and more patience is what I need to remember even when I wish things would just hurry up. I must stay strong and have faith in the Lord for He know my path.
Thank you Lord for everything you do in my life and the lives of those around me.
Best wishes,
Grace

Change
Good morning my loves and happy Sunday!
This past week has been quite a busy one. While still handling volleyball, I tackled back to school shopping, entertaining my cousin who was in town, and helping my friends get ready for their first day of school. It was quite a hectic week.
Although I seemed to have a lot of things on my plate, I still managed to procrastinate and have some down time. One thing I have recently come to love is youtube. I love watching youtuber's videos, vlogs, and challenges.
With technology becoming such a common thing in this modern world, these youtuber's lives have changed. These people have become famous simply over the internet. Millions of people watch their videos because of their humor, honesty, and willingness to do anything for the camera. These young people are becoming the face of our generation.
Many of my favorite youtubers have been talking about change. Since their lives blew up so quickly, their surroundings have changed. They went from posting videos from their bedrooms for fun to attending events, being signed to labels, and beginning making thousands of dollars all before the hit their twenties.
This is what Nash Grier, a youtuber and viner, said in his last video about change.
With school around the corner, I have the opportunity to change. I have the chance to be completely myself. I have the chance to make this a good year, one that I can look back on and say I really was myself.
Happy Sunday loves, rejoice in the Lord and have a day of relaxing before the busy week starts up again.
Best wishes,
Grace

"A lot of people say 'you've changed' like it's a bad thing. Change is good, at least that's what I believe. I mean how does one grow and learn and experience without change? I personally have had a lot of changes in my life recently. But they wouldn't have happened unless I allowed them to. They wouldn't have happened unless I lived in the moment."I found this so true and so full of wisdom. Yes, it may be silly that I am quoting a internet sensation, but I personally believe this is so applicable to anyone's life.
With school around the corner, I have the opportunity to change. I have the chance to be completely myself. I have the chance to make this a good year, one that I can look back on and say I really was myself.

Volleyball, Sleep, Volleyball
One-sixth of the way done. Following this morning's volleyball practice, I am one-sixth of the way done with preseason. Yes, I am counting the days.
One of the first things you will come to know about me is that even though I would love to be a morning person, I am most definitely not one. This works against me big time during volleyball preseason. Our first practice of the day (yes, we have two-a-days..feel bad for me yet?), is at 6:15 in the morning. Being forced to run, dive, and sweat through your shirt before the sun even rises is quite the request. We have the day off, but then are forced to report back at 6:45 for some more conditioning and drills. My days have turned into volleyball, sleeping, and more volleyball.
So yes, I can barley move my arms and legs from the ridiculous weight training we have been doing. Yes, my feet are covered in all kinds of nasty blisters. Yes, I can hardly keep my eyes open while writing this. And yes, I cannot wait to climb in my bed in a few short minutes.
Although this hard work is beyond exhausting, I really like it in a weird way. With the bad, I am able to see the good. I love knowing that my body is being pushed to be better. I love the girls on my team. But I do not love the 5:45 wake ups.
Saturday come quick.
Best wishes,
Grace

Calling
This past few weeks, I have seen God active in my life. As I have prayed for direction in my life and understanding of the path I am on, I am beginning to see answers.
I have always loved to travel. Being in new places, discovering new things and being a part of new cultures excites me. Recently, I have been questioning the future. Growing up, I have always wanted to be a doctor. The idea of helping people and being able to provide a service that many people cannot seems like such a wonderful opportunity. However, I have begun to seriously question if that is what I really want to do.
During these past few weeks, too many similar events have taken place to just be a coincidence. First of all, many of my friends have been traveling to places I would love to go. When you see pictures and posts of people you know in exotic places, it is exciting! One of my closest family friends had the opportunity to take a three week trip backpacking across Europe. Another one of my dear friends had the chance to venture out of her comfort zone and take a two week trip to Lima, Peru. She visited Machu Picchu and the Amazon Rainforest!
On top of these two friends being out of the country, my absolute favorite adventure blogger returned after being MIA on social media for over eight weeks. She lived in New York City and ended up moving to London to attend Cambridge (my two favorite cities and one of my dream schools!!). She posts pictures and writes stories about her adventures. I look up to this sweet blogger to say the least.
Finally, I was spoken to through a book. My grandma gave me a copy of The Promise of a Pencil by Adam Braun. (This book is life changing and I am not even half way through it. I have taken notes, dog eared pages, and take it with me everywhere. I plan on doing a complete review post when I finish it.) Adam Braun grew up very similar to how I did, in a family that loved him and did not have many problems. When he got to college, he had the chance to venture out on a semester at sea. This is when he found his passion to help others in impoverished countries.
So if you have not caught the hint, I am feeling a clear calling to travel. I have always known that once I graduate high school, I want to leave the state to go to school. These things all happening at once on top of the fact that I have a general desire to travel is simply overjoying.
How will I live out this calling, one may ask? I will start small and simple: travel within my community. Volunteer, serve, minister, and give back is what I will do. I will begin to give my time to contribute to the greater good of this world as a whole. Next, I will embark upon bigger journeys. Over these next few years, I will have the chance to go on multiple mission trips. My goal is to go as many of the trips as possible. I will continue to pray for good timing and to see where my help is needed.
Best wishes,
Grace

Home Again
Following a week of adventure, I am finally home again. Like I said before, there is just something so great about coming back home after being gone for a while. It makes me so grateful for the things I have. Sharing a one room RV with six people makes me very grateful to have my own room to come home to.
If I come off like I am complaining, I actually feel quite the opposite. I had so much fun this past week. Staying on roller coasters until midnight, fishing the White River, and cliff diving at Table Rock Lake were just a few of the things I got to experience. On top of those things, I got to experience new towns and places with my closest friends.
As for the blog, I have quite a few things coming up. With my travel diary over for a little while, I am trying to mentally prepare myself for the start of school again. Tomorrow morning is my first, official volleyball practice with the whole team. Although I am a little nervous, I am excited. In order to have a great year, one must have a great attitude.
For those who know me, you know this is my second time around at this school, and I have learned many things from my first experience. I am ready to go into this year being myself and only myself. I am not willing to submit to be someone that somebody else wants me to be. I am ready to be confident (although not boastful) in myself and my actions. I am ready to have a great year.
This is a little bit random, but as I was writing this post, a verse played over the radio that is one of my favorites. I have decided to live it out this week, anyone care to join me?
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and is ready for a great week!

FUN
Well, the title pretty much sums it up.
Today, I got to ride the tallest water slide IN THE WORLD. No, not just in Kansas. Not just in the United States. THE WORLD.
It is called the Verrückt, located in the Schlitterbahn in Kansas City. It is taller than the Statue of Liberty and Niagra Falls.
After waiting five hours in line and climbing 264 stairs to the top, we boarded the raft. Following sitting on the convayer belt for no more than two minutes (which felt like forever), we flew down the first drop. After that, we came back up and went down a smaller drop, although it was nothing like the first one. The entire ride was about fifteen seconds. We waited five hours for a fifteen second ride, but it was well worth it.
The amount of fun I had today makes up for the past two lazy days.
Tomorrow we are headed to another theme park, World of Fun, before finally coming home to gear up for preseason volleyball.
More adventures to come.
Best wishes,
Grace
